A disturbing incident has shaken a Mumbai convent school after its principal allegedly assaulted a Class 10 student during the Children's Day celebration. According to Vakola police, the principal got into an argument with the student over a broken chair, which the pupil denied breaking. The incident reportedly occurred last week when the school held its Children's Day event. The principal allegedly forced the student to sit outside his office for over two hours before confronting him about the broken chair. When the student denied responsibility, the principal lost his temper and physically assaulted him. The student later confided in his family, who filed a police complaint on Monday. The Vakola police have registered an FIR against the principal under sections 115-2 (voluntarily causing hurt), 351-2 (criminal intimidation), and relevant provisions of the Child Protection Act. The accused faces serious charges, including assault and intimidation of a minor, sparking concerns about the safety and well-being of students in the school.
