Raipur, Chhattisgarh: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at 12 locations across Dantewada and Sukma districts in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region on Friday. The operation is linked to the 2023 Aranpur IED blast and ambush attack case, which claimed the lives of 10 policemen and a driver. The NIA recovered several incriminating materials, including cash, handwritten letters, and digital devices, during the raids. The agency has been investigating the case, which involved the Darbha Division Committee of the banned CPI (Maoist). So far, 27 individuals have been arrested and two charge sheets have been filed. The case highlights possible security lapses, as the policemen were traveling in an unprotected vehicle when the IED blast occurred. The incident has sparked concerns about standard operating procedure violations and gaps in security. The NIA continues to investigate the case, with further charges expected to be filed in the coming days.
