Bihar is set for a grand show as Nitish Kumar prepares to take oath as the chief minister for a record 10th time, following the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) landslide victory in the recent assembly elections. The date for Nitish's oath ceremony will be finalized based on the availability of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is expected to attend the event along with top BJP leaders. Modi had promised to return for the oath ceremony after the NDA's victory during his election campaign. According to JD(U) leaders, the process for the new government formation will begin after Nitish submits his resignation to the governor, following a meeting on Monday. The Election Commission of India is expected to submit the list of newly-elected assembly members to the governor by Sunday evening. The JD(U) has reportedly finalized the formula for distributing ministries among alliance partners, with a new look for the Cabinet, featuring both old and new faces. The Speaker's post will likely go to the BJP, as in the past. Union ministers, including Sanjay Jha and Dharmendra Pradhan, have been holding consultations in Delhi to finalize the government formation. BJP state chief Dilip Jaiswal confirmed that everything is being worked out ahead of the oath ceremony, which is expected to take place soon. The term of the Bihar assembly ends on November 22, and the election process must be concluded before then. Legislature party meetings of all allies and a joint meeting of the NDA will be held on Monday and Tuesday to elect their leader, paving the way for Nitish to stake his claim with a joint letter of support.
