In a surprising turn of events, one exit poll has diverged from the majority, predicting a significant win for Bihar's opposition, led by Tejashwi Yadav's RJD and Congress. Journo Mirror, a Hindi-language news portal, has forecasted that the Mahagathbandhan bloc will secure 130-140 seats in the 243-member assembly, surpassing the necessary majority of 122. In contrast, the ruling NDA, led by the JD(U) and BJP, is expected to secure only 100-110 seats. The exit poll, which was shared on Instagram, also suggests that the Jan Suraaj Party, led by Prashant Kishor, will barely make an impact, securing 0-3 seats. Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM may win 3-4 seats. This prediction starkly contrasts with at least seven other exit polls, which have predicted a clear majority for the NDA. The accuracy of exit polls has been questioned in the past, particularly in the 2020 Bihar assembly polls, where they incorrectly predicted a Mahagathbandhan win. Journo Mirror, which positions itself as an alternative news source focused on 'social justice,' has been active since 2021 and primarily covers contemporary Indian political and social issues, with a focus on marginalized communities.
