A high-profile controversy has erupted in the Pakistani kabaddi community after international player Ubaidullah Rajput was banned for an indefinite period by the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF). The reason behind his ban is a private event in Bahrain, where Rajput wore an Indian jersey, represented an 'Indian team,' and wrapped the Indian flag around his shoulders after a match. According to PKF secretary Rana Sarwar, Rajput traveled to Bahrain without obtaining the necessary no-objection certificate (NOC) from the federation or relevant authorities. The incident has sparked outrage, with numerous videos and photographs of Rajput in an Indian jersey and waving the Indian flag going viral on social media. Rajput initially apologized for the incident, claiming it was a misunderstanding, and stating that he was invited to play in the tournament without being informed about the team's name. However, he maintained that he never intended to represent India and expressed his disapproval of the organizers' actions. The PKF has also taken disciplinary action against other players who participated in the tournament without obtaining NOCs. Rajput has the right to challenge the decision before a disciplinary committee. The incident has raised questions about the protocols in place for international players participating in private tournaments and the potential consequences of violating these rules.
