Panipat Police Foil Robbery Attempt, 2 Accused Injured in Shootout

A brazen robbery attempt turned into a violent shootout in Panipat's Sector 29 police station area on Friday night. The police were attempting to arrest Sandeep, Naveen, and their accomplice Deepak, who were involved in a robbery and firing incident earlier this year. As the police closed in, the accused opened fire and attempted to flee on a motorcycle. However, in the ensuing crossfire, both Sandeep and Naveen were injured in their legs and are currently undergoing treatment at PGI Khanpur. The police have recovered three illegal pistols and six live cartridges from the scene. The incident is linked to a previous FIR filed by Rajwanti, wife of Suresh, who reported that her house was broken into and Rs. 3 lakhs, a gold chain, and silver anklets were stolen. A new FIR has been registered against the accused persons, and further investigation is underway.
