A controversy has erupted in Pilibhit over the arrest of a VHP leader, with the organization accusing a senior district official of filing a false and politically motivated case against him. Additional District Magistrate Ritu Punia lodged an FIR against VHP's organization secretary Prince Gaur on November 6, alleging that he had committed several offenses. Gaur was arrested on Saturday, but was later hospitalized due to health issues. The VHP has demanded an impartial probe into the matter, claiming that the case is baseless and fabricated. The organization's Braj region organizing secretary, Rajesh, met with the District Magistrate, Senior Superintendent of Police, and other senior officials, alleging that the action against Gaur was a deliberate attempt to malign the organization. Rajesh stated that the Constitution grants every citizen the right to raise complaints, but in this case, a case was filed against someone who exercised that right. The District Magistrate has confirmed that an inquiry into the matter has been ordered, and the process has begun. The police are conducting a thorough and impartial investigation, taking into account all aspects of the case. The VHP has also demanded disciplinary action against ADM Punia and has vowed to investigate the forged complaint letter internally. The organization has stated that it stands firmly with its karyakartas in all circumstances.
