Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Election Commission for conducting a successful Bihar assembly election, which saw a historic 67.13% voter turnout, the highest since 1951. The BJP leader credited the EC for ensuring a peaceful election process, with no repolls required, unlike in previous years. He also took a jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegations of 'vote chori', stating that such claims are part of a continued attack on constitutional bodies. Modi's comments came as the BJP-led NDA alliance was set to cross the 200-mark in the 243-seat assembly, with the RJD managing to secure a single-digit score. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the EC, its officials, and security personnel for their efforts in ensuring a record turnout. In his victory speech, Modi highlighted the significant achievements of the Election Commission, including a consistently high voter turnout, increased participation by marginalized communities, and a peaceful election process. He also noted that the same Bihar, once plagued by Maoist terror and 'jungle raj', has now witnessed a record voter turnout and peaceful polls. The NDA's performance in Bihar can be attributed to the strong show by major parties like BJP and JD(U), as well as comprehensive support from Chirag Paswan's LJP(RV) and Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha. The Prime Minister vowed to work with renewed vigour for the state's progress, hailing the people of Bihar for reposing faith in the NDA after witnessing its track record and vision for the state. In a series of posts on X, Modi thanked the people of Bihar for blessing the NDA with a historic victory, promising to serve the people with new resolve. He also extended his congratulations to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and NDA allies Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha for their role in the resounding victory.
