Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hailed the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) landslide victory in Bihar as a triumph for democracy and a rejection of negative politics. The BJP-led alliance's stunning win marked the end of 'Jungle Raj,' a period of lawlessness and booth capturing during the RJD's rule, Modi said. In a speech at the party headquarters, Modi credited the Election Commission of India (ECI) for ensuring a record 67.13% voter turnout in the state. He also praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other NDA leaders for their outstanding work. Modi's comments came as he asserted that the NDA's victory would pave the way for a similar triumph in West Bengal next year. He also attacked the Congress leadership, calling it the 'Muslim League Maoist Congress' and predicting a split in the opposition party. The PM attributed the improved law and order in the state to the ECI's efforts and the deletion of around 4.7 million names from the electoral rolls. He said the NDA's win was a mandate for development politics and a rejection of appeasement politics, which he claimed had been replaced by 'santushtikaran' or satisfaction. Modi also praised the women and youth of Bihar for their role in the NDA's victory, saying they had suffered during the RJD's rule and witnessed the terror of Jungle Raj. He assured the people of West Bengal that the BJP would work with them to end the Jungle Raj in the state. The PM also highlighted the NDA's pro-governance and pro-development policies, saying they had bucked anti-incumbency in several states, including Bihar, Maharashtra, and Haryana. He claimed that the Congress had lost the trust of people in many states and had not been able to return to power in several years. The BJP's victory in Bihar marked a significant win for the party, which had been out of power in the state for 35 years. The NDA's win was seen as a rejection of the Congress's negative politics and a mandate for development and governance.
