Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a stern message to the opposition RJD in Bihar's Sitamarhi on Saturday, ahead of the second phase of Assembly elections on November 11. Modi's speech was marked by a sharp critique of RJD's policies, which he claimed would lead to a 'surrender' of Bihar's future. Modi targeted RJD's 'vote bank politics' and accused them of protecting infiltrators, stating that this approach would never benefit the state. He also mocked RJD's election campaign, which features children being made to say they want to become 'rangdar' (a reference to RJD's alleged promotion of its own family members). The PM highlighted the achievements of the NDA government, such as the Punaura Dham project in Sitamarhi and the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana', which has provided ₹10,000 to over one crore women. He also referred to Bihar's growing fishery sector, taking a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent dip in a pond. Modi expressed delight over the high voter turnout in the first phase of elections, where 65.08% voters exercised their franchise. He urged the people of Bihar to continue their support for the NDA, stating that they are giving the opposition a 'big shock' and keeping them 'sleepless nights'. The Sitamarhi constituency, one of the 243 Assembly seats, is set to witness a triangular contest between the BJP, RJD, and the Jan Suraaj Party in the second phase of polling scheduled for November 11.
