PM Modi Unveils ₹8,100 Crore Development Projects in Uttarakhand on State's Silver Jubilee

Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the 25th anniversary of Uttarakhand's formation by inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for numerous development projects worth over ₹8,140 crore. The projects span various sectors, including drinking water, irrigation, education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development. The Prime Minister also released ₹62 crore to over 28,000 farmers under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, directly transferring the funds into their bank accounts. Notable projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister include Dehradun's expanded water supply coverage, an electrical substation in Pithoragarh district, and solar power installations in government buildings. Additionally, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stones for the Song Dam Drinking Water Project, which will supply 150 MLD of drinking water to Dehradun, and the Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project, providing drinking water, supporting irrigation, and generating electricity. Other projects included electrical substations, a Women's Sports College in Champawat, and a state-of-the-art dairy plant in Nainital. The occasion was marked by the Uttarakhand Silver Jubilee event at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun, where over one lakh people are expected to attend the ceremony commemorating 25 years since the state's formation.
