The Jan Suraaj Party, founded by strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor, has ruled out abandoning its electoral ambitions in Bihar despite a disappointing showing in the recent assembly election. Jan Suraaj Party president Uday Singh said that Prashant Kishor will continue to be involved in politics and committed to working for the development of Bihar. The party, which failed to win a single seat in the 2025 assembly election, is determined to revive its promise of change, 'Bihar badlav'. The party's poor performance was attributed to the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) landslide victory, which secured 202 out of 243 seats. The BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 89 seats, followed closely by the JD(U) with 85. Other NDA partners also performed strongly. In contrast, the Mahagathbandhan suffered significant losses, with the RJD winning 25 seats, CPI(ML)(L) 2, IIP 1, and CPI(M) 1. Uday Singh criticized the NDA's 'vote-for-cash' strategy, which he believes will put pressure on Bihar's economy. He expressed concerns over the debt cycle the state may enter due to this strategy. The Jan Suraaj Party has vowed to continue its efforts and work towards fulfilling its promise of change in Bihar.
