A high-stakes land deal in Pune has sparked a political storm in Maharashtra, with allegations of corruption and embezzlement at the highest levels. At the center of the controversy is Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son, Parth Pawar, who is not named in the FIR despite being linked to the deal. According to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the FIR has been filed against the company and its authorized signatories, but not Parth Pawar or his business partner, Digvijay Patil. Fadnavis has vowed to take action against anyone found guilty in the inquiry report. The land deal in question involved the sale of 40 acres of 'Mahar Watan' land in the Mundhwa area of Pune city to Amedea Enterprises, a company owned by Parth Pawar. The land was allegedly sold for ₹300 crore, despite being worth ₹1,800 crore, with a waiver of stamp duty worth ₹21 crore. The opposition Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress have accused the government of collusion and corruption, citing the illegal transfer of the land and the waiver of stamp duty. The government has denied any wrongdoing, claiming that the deal was cancelled and that action will be taken against anyone found guilty. The matter came to light after a social activist, Dinkar Kotkar, filed a complaint letter to the office of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), alleging that stamp duty had been wrongfully waived. The government has said it took action on the activist's complaint and has registered an FIR against the company and its authorized signatories. The Pune land deal has sparked a heated debate, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the allegations of corruption and embezzlement. As the inquiry report is awaited, the government has vowed to take action against anyone found guilty, but the question remains: why was Parth Pawar not named in the FIR?
