Chaos erupted outside Delhi's LNJP Hospital on Tuesday morning as families desperately sought information about their relatives caught up in the Red Fort blast. The hospital's mortuary gates were heavily guarded, with only authorized personnel allowed entry. Family members were seen pleading with hospital staff for updates on their loved ones, while others broke down in tears as ambulances continued to arrive and depart. A hospital worker described the scenes from the previous night as 'gruesome', with bodies that were 'beyond recognition'. The death toll from the explosion, which occurred near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, has risen to 12. Most of the bodies have been handed over to relatives who were able to identify them. The hospital was placed under tight security, with the emergency ward sealed off and entry barred. Patients arriving at the hospital were redirected to other blocks, while security personnel turned away anyone attempting to enter the emergency and casualty wards. Many gates of the hospital were closed, with people being asked to use alternative entry points. Families were seen waiting anxiously outside the hospital, with some expressing frustration over the restrictions. 'We reached here and found the gates locked. Now we have to take a long U-turn to enter from another gate,' said Anita Gupta, whose mother is undergoing treatment at the hospital. Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena arrived at the hospital late Tuesday morning to inspect the situation.
