The Pulwama residence of Dr. Umar Nabi, prime suspect in the Red Fort blast case, was demolished by security forces on Friday as part of the ongoing investigation. The blast near Red Fort on Monday evening killed 10 people and injured several others. According to officials, Nabi was driving the Hyundai i20 at the time of the incident, and his identity was confirmed after DNA samples matched those of his mother. Nabi, an assistant professor at Al Falah University in Faridabad, was linked to Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie and Dr. Adeel Rather, who were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir last week for storing large quantities of explosives. Investigators claim Nabi acted out of panic and desperation after a major crackdown on his network in Faridabad. As the investigation unfolds, officials have seized a silver Maruti Brezza, registered under the name of Dr. Shaheen Shahid, bringing the total number of vehicles under scrutiny to four. The other vehicles include the white Hyundai i20 allegedly driven by Nabi, a red Ford EcoSport, and a Maruti Swift Dzire owned by Shahid. The Delhi Police has registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, including provisions for terrorist acts and conspiracy. Additional charges under the Explosive Substances Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have also been applied, including murder, attempt to murder, and criminal conspiracy. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police are continuing to probe the wider network involved in the blast.
