The investigation into the Red Fort blast has led to significant breakthroughs, with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) identifying Dr Umar Nabi as the mastermind behind the attack. The 32-year-old assistant professor at Al Falah University in Faridabad worked with a network of doctors and associates to orchestrate the blast that killed at least 10 people and injured several others. In a major development, the house of Dr Umar Nabi was razed down in Pulwama's Koil village, Jammu and Kashmir, by security forces on Friday. The DNA examination confirmed that Dr Nabi was behind the wheels of the explosive-laden car used in the blast. As the investigation unfolds, five more individuals have been detained, including two doctors and two staffers of Al-Falah University in Faridabad. The detainees include cardiologist Dr Mohammad Arif Mir from Kanpur and Dr Farukh, a gynecologist from GS Medical College, Hapur, both originally from Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA has taken custody of the detainees and shifted them to Delhi for interrogation. The investigation has also revealed a complex chain of fertilizer and ammonium nitrate purchases allegedly orchestrated by Dr Nabi and his associates from the Faridabad module over the past several months. The procurement network was traced to Basai Meo village in Haryana's Nuh district and adjoining areas of Faridabad, Gurugram, and Saharanpur. The NIA has seized a silver Maruti Brezza, which was reportedly registered under the name of Dr Shaheen Shahid. This is the fourth vehicle to come under the scanner in the investigation. As the probe continues, the Al-Falah Medical College and its parent university in Faridabad are under scrutiny. The investigators have sought records dating back to 2019 as part of the ongoing investigation into the Red Fort blast. The NIA is looking into whether the accused doctors exploited their positions to recruit others, raise funds, and coordinate logistics for the attack. The government has called for a speedy probe into the incident, and multiple detentions and raids have been carried out so far. The investigation has led to significant breakthroughs, and the NIA is working to unravel the complex network behind the Red Fort blast.
