A 32-year-old Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker, Naveen Arora, was tragically shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Ferozepur's main bazaar area on Saturday evening. Naveen, who had returned home from his dupatta shop, was attacked while riding his motorcycle. He was rushed to a hospital but unfortunately did not survive. The incident has sparked a heated political debate in Punjab, with opposition parties accusing the state government of failing to maintain law and order. The Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief, Sunil Jakhar, alleged that gangsters were running a parallel government in the state, while Union minister of state Ravneet Singh Bittu condemned the murder and expressed concerns over the growing sense of insecurity among citizens. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has termed the murder a conspiracy, while the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief, Sukhbir Singh Badal, described it as 'jungle raj' in Punjab. Nine teams have been formed by the police to investigate the case and identify the culprits. Naveen, who was a grandson of a senior RSS leader in Ferozepur, was cremated on Sunday. His family and friends are still trying to come to terms with the tragic loss. The incident has sent shockwaves across the state, with many calling for immediate action to restore law and order in Punjab.
