A 48-year-old Sikh woman, Sarabjit Kaur, has gone missing in Pakistan while on a pilgrimage with a 1,931-member group. According to Pakistani authorities, she has since converted to Islam and married a 43-year-old man named Nasir Hussain in the Sheikhupura district, near Lahore. An 18-second video has emerged showing Sarabjit Kaur declaring her conversion to Islam and marriage to Nasir Hussain. However, the authenticity of the video has not been independently verified. Sarabjit Kaur, now known as Noor Hussain, had been living in India with her two sons and was divorced from her husband, Karnail Singh, who has been living in England for 15 years. Her disappearance was reported when the pilgrimage group returned to India on November 13, and Indian authorities are now scrambling to understand the circumstances of her decision to convert and marry a Pakistani man. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and central intelligence agencies are on high alert, and officials are trying to establish contact with Sarabjit Kaur to understand her intentions. Sarabjit Kaur has a criminal record in India, with three cheating and fraud cases registered against her. Her sons also face 10 FIRs for similar offenses. The sudden turn of events has raised concerns about the security and safety of Sikh pilgrims traveling to Pakistan, and authorities are now investigating whether Sarabjit Kaur had previously traveled to Pakistan through other routes, including the Kartarpur Corridor.
