Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav has expressed concern over his safety after his security cover was upgraded to Y-Plus category. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will now provide him protection, citing threats to his life. 'My security has been increased due to a threat to my life. People will get me killed,' Yadav told reporters in Patna. According to reports, security agencies submitted a threat assessment to the Ministry of Home Affairs, leading to the decision to enhance Yadav's security. This comes as Yadav is contesting the 2025 Bihar assembly elections from Mahua constituency, where he faced opposition from several candidates. The move has sparked speculation about Yadav's growing ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), following an incident where he was spotted greeting BJP MP Ravi Kishan at Patna airport. However, Yadav clarified that the meeting was 'a coincidence.' Yadav's security upgrade is a significant development, considering his history with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his family, who expelled him. He has since launched his own party, the Janshakti Janata Dal, and is seeking to make a mark in the Bihar assembly elections.
