Telangana Families Mourn: 50 Relatives to Embark on Emotional Journey to Saudi Arabia for Funeral

A somber procession is expected to leave Hyderabad soon, as about 50 family members of the pilgrims who lost their lives in a tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia prepare to travel to the Gulf nation for the funeral. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday, according to a senior Telangana official. The Telangana government team, led by Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammad Azharuddin, has reached Saudi Arabia to coordinate relief efforts, including funeral arrangements. However, due to the severe burns suffered by the victims, DNA testing will be conducted to confirm the identities of the deceased. The Telangana government is working closely with the Saudi authorities to ensure that the funeral is conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions. The government has also announced a compensation package of ₹5 lakh for each of the kin of the deceased, in addition to travel reimbursement. A mass funeral is likely to take place, and the revenue department of the Telangana government will issue necessary documents to the family members. The Telangana government has decided to conduct the funeral in Saudi Arabia to ensure that the deceased are laid to rest in accordance with their last wishes. The bus accident, which occurred earlier this week, claimed the lives of 42 pilgrims, mostly from Telangana, according to sources. However, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner put the death toll at 45. The Telangana government has pledged its full support to the families of the victims and is working tirelessly to ensure that they receive the necessary assistance during this difficult time.
