The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort, demanding Shah's resignation. The TMC accused Shah of walking away 'unscathed' from previous terror attacks, including the Pulwama and Pahalgam bombings and the recent bomb blast in Delhi's heart. 'Any home minister with a shred of conscience would have stepped down by now,' the TMC said, targeting Modi for being abroad while citizens suffer at home. The TMC alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) regime has led to a 'national security collapse,' citing security lapses and innocent lives lost. TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee questioned the Delhi Police's handling of the situation, pointing out that they are directly under the Union Home Ministry. He called for an impartial investigation into the incident and the recovery of explosives in Haryana's Faridabad. TMC Lok Sabha member Mahua Moitra criticized Shah for failing to protect India's borders and cities, labeling him a 'hate campaign minister.' West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also targeted Shah over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, saying he should resign due to his responsibility for internal security and the Border Security Force. The BJP's West Bengal chief, Samik Bhattacharya, hit back at the TMC, accusing them of providing a safe haven for infiltrators and terror elements from Bangladesh during Mamata Banerjee's regime. The TMC's attack on the BJP comes as the party seeks to capitalize on the Delhi blast and the subsequent security lapses, ahead of the upcoming elections in West Bengal.
