TN Governor Clears 81% Bills, Rebuts Delay Claims Amidst Assembly Row

In a statement released on November 7, the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan dismissed allegations of delay in clearing Assembly Bills, saying Governor R N Ravi has given his assent to 81% of the total Bills received. According to official records, 95 of these Bills were cleared within three months. The remaining 13% have been reserved for the President's consideration. The Raj Bhavan clarified that 10 Bills were withheld initially due to concerns over University Grants Commission regulations, but were subsequently cleared after being passed again by the Assembly. The Governor's office emphasized that Ravi has been diligent in upholding the rule of law and protecting the interests of the people of Tamil Nadu, acting strictly in accordance with the Constitution. The statement also highlighted the Governor's commitment to supporting Tamil heritage and initiatives that promote the state's culture and literature.
