A Las Vegas hotel room tragedy has shaken the travel influencer community. Anunay Sood, a popular travel influencer and photographer, was found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Wynn Las Vegas on November 4. A report by 8NewsNow suggests that Sood's death may have been caused by a suspected drug overdose. According to documents reviewed by the outlet, police officers discovered 'narcotics' near Sood's body. A woman who was staying with him told investigators that the group had purchased what they believed to be cocaine from a man on the casino floor around 4 am. They consumed the substance before falling asleep, but Sood was found unresponsive when the woman woke up an hour later. Sood, who had more than 1.5 million followers on Instagram, was in Las Vegas to attend the Las Vegas Concours 2025 car show. His last posts placed him in the city at the time of his death. The Los Angeles police had initially reported the incident as a non-criminal/medical case. The Clark County coroner's office has listed Sood's cause and manner of death as pending, pending toxicology tests to confirm whether substances caused the death. As of Monday, authorities said no arrests have been made in connection with the case. Anunay Sood was a well-known travel influencer, photographer, and entrepreneur who had traveled to 46 countries and spoken about his ambition to visit all 195 countries and regions across the world.
