A former TTD official, Satish Kumar, was found dead on the railway tracks in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, sparking concerns of foul play. The 47-year-old former assistant in the Parakamani section of the Tirupati temple had filed a complaint against a senior staff member in April 2023 for allegedly stealing from the temple's cash offerings. According to police, Satish Kumar's body was discovered during routine maintenance work by railway workers on Friday. His identity was confirmed through his identification documents. The police are awaiting forensic examination results to determine the cause of death, with investigators considering the possibility of foul play. Satish Kumar's death has triggered a heated debate between the ruling TDP and opposition YSRCP leaders. TDP spokesperson Pattabhi Ram Kommareddy alleged that Satish Kumar had faced threats to withdraw his complaint, pointing to alleged injuries on his face and hinting at possible assault. YSRCP senior leader Sake Sailajanath, however, claimed that Satish Kumar had faced harassment from SIT officials and demanded a judicial probe to clarify the circumstances surrounding his death. The TTD has come under scrutiny in recent years, with allegations of corruption and mismanagement. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of officials who speak out against corruption and misconduct. As the investigation continues, questions remain about the circumstances surrounding Satish Kumar's death and whether foul play was involved.
