The Uttarakhand Cabinet has made several key decisions to support those affected by recent disasters in the state. Firstly, the relief payout for families who lost loved ones has been increased to Rs. 5 lakh, up from Rs. 4 lakh. Additionally, the amount for damaged pucca houses has been raised to Rs. 5 lakh, while kutcha houses will receive Rs. 1 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, in addition to the standard disaster fund payout. Commercial buildings will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. The Cabinet has also given initial approval for the 'Devbhoomi Family Scheme', which aims to create a comprehensive database of state families, assigning each a unique ID. This will enable them to access government benefits and check their eligibility for various schemes. Furthermore, the Cabinet established a committee to consider the implementation of the Uttarakhand High Court's order regarding the regularization of daily wage and contract employees. The panel will also discuss the cut-off date for future cases. A subcommittee was formed to address the issue of minimum wages and dearness allowance for Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation employees, with a two-month deadline to finalize their decision. Lastly, the Cabinet approved amendments to the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association of UPNL, aiming to provide job opportunities abroad to ex-servicemen, their dependents, and state youth through the organization.
