Harry Maguire has praised Ruben Amorim's tenure at Manchester United, despite the Portuguese manager's disastrous 14-month stint. Maguire feels Amorim was key in building a solid squad, but his tactics failed to deliver results.

Under Amorim, United won only 24 of 63 games, averaging a meager 1.23 points per game, the lowest in Premier League history. Maguire defended Amorim, stating that he had 'good ideas' but they didn't 'work at Manchester United.'

Maguire also pointed out that Amorim built a 'good, solid squad' and deserves credit for that. Amorim's record was the worst since Frank O'Farrell's reign ended in 1972, with 15 wins, 19 losses, and 13 draws in 47 Premier League games.
