Divya Dutta began her journey in Bollywood as a teenager, debuting with Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna at 16. She gained prominence with the 1999 Punjabi film Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh but admits work was hard to come by for years.
Success came after Veer Zaara, and she was flooded with offers, signing 20 films. However, after a conversation with Aditya Chopra, she returned the signing amount for many of them.
Recalling her journey, Divya says finding her place in the industry was a challenge. She remembers signing 20 films at once, but after a chance meeting with Aditya Chopra, she dropped out of all the films she hadn't started work on.
Aditya Chopra's advice changed her perspective, and she prioritized quality over quantity. She eventually won a National Award for Best Supporting Actress for Irada in 2017 and appeared in commercially successful films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Badlapur, and Chhaava.
