Renowned director Sudha Kongara has expressed her admiration for Tamil superstar Vijay, stating that she is one of his biggest fans. Kongara's latest film, Parasakthi, hit theaters over the weekend, but its release was initially threatened by a clash with Jana Nayagan, Vijay's highly anticipated film. Kongara, speaking to India Today, expressed her disappointment over Jana Nayagan's delayed release, citing the challenges faced by the film, including last-minute censorship issues. 'What happened to Jana Nayagan, where just two days before release, the censors hold you back... it should not happen to any film,' she emphasized. The director, known for her work on historical dramas, has no intention of competing with Vijay's film, as she believes it's impossible to match the star's massive following. 'You cannot compete with the biggest star in the country,' Kongara said. Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Sreeleela, and Atharvaa, has finally been released in theaters after receiving clearance from the CBFC at the last minute. Directed by Kongara and produced by Aakash Bhaskaran, the film is distributed by Red Giant Movies, a production house co-owned by Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. Set in 1960s Madras, Parasakthi tells the story of two brothers who participate in an anti-Hindi imposition agitation in Tamil Nadu. The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, and Guru Somasundaram. With its powerful narrative and impressive performances, Parasakthi is all set to captivate audiences in Tamil Nadu and beyond.
