Anti-Drug Operation Conducted in Bagma: 'Nesa Mukta Tripura' Initiative Gains Momentum

An anti-drug control team, led by Tiprasa Sikla Bodol, conducted an operation in Bagma on Wednesday to crack down on shops selling drugs. The team's efforts are part of the ruling party's initiative, 'Nesa Mukta Tripura,' launched by the government of Tripura.

According to the Sub-Inspector (SI), the team obtained permission from the Bishramganj Police Station to carry out the operation. Initially, there was confusion about a possible kidnapping case, but the matter was clarified after investigation.

Shri Ram Pada Jamatia, MLA of 30 Bagma constituency, visited the site to oversee the operation and later discussed the matter with SI Dipu Debbarma at Bagma Police Station.

After talking to the SI, Ram Pada Jamatia spoke to the media that it was Tiprasa Sikla Bodol, a team of NGO working for the ‘Nesa Mukta Kendra’, who took the shopkeeper for investigation because there were rumors about the particular shop selling addictive substances. He also mentioned that the team took prior permission from Bishramganj Police Station and the team was not aware that the area was under Bagma Police Station, which caused the confusion. He also clarified that it was not a kidnapping case, but rather a misunderstanding and confusion.
